Why You Need Your Room’s Air Filtered 4 Times Per Hour
At Solenco Store, we emphasise the importance of matching your air purifier to your room size. The key benchmark? At least 4 air changes per hour (ACH) - meaning all the air in the space is circulated through the filter every 15 minutes.
What Exactly Is ACH?
ACH (Air Changes per Hour) refers to how many times the entire volume of air in a room passes through your purifier in 60 minutes. Reaching 4 ACH significantly reduces common indoor pollutants like dust, allergens, VOCs, pet dander, and airborne viruses.
Room Size Matters
The purifier must be powerful enough (i.e. have a high CADR) for your room's volume. Undersized units can't keep up; oversized units are costly and unnecessary. Matching the unit’s CADR to achieve ≥4 ACH ensures optimal performance.
Choose the Right Solenco Unit:
- Solenco Air Purification Pal – compact, fun, perfect for nurseries and kids’ rooms (≤15 m²).
- Solenco 204 Air Purifier (Kusasa) – ideal for small‑to‑medium rooms (up to ~30 m²).
- Solenco 803 Air Purifier (Thuza) – designed for larger living areas (~60 m²).
How to Check If You Have 4 ACH
Use this simple formula:
CADR (m³/h) ÷ Room volume (m³) = ACH
Example: A room 5 × 4 × 2.4 m ⇒ volume ≈ 48 m³. To get 4 ACH ⇒ CADR ≥ 48 × 4 = 192 m³/h. The Kusasa or Purification Pal deliver enough CADR for smaller spaces, while the Thuza covers larger areas.
Why 4 ACH?
Studies and international air‑quality guidelines display that 4 ACH effectively lowers airborne particles, supports sleep, eases allergies and asthma, and maintains a healthier indoor atmosphere.
